BEAMSVILLE, ON LJM Developments President Liaquat Mian made a special announcement at Peninsula Ridge winery and presented Habitat for Humanity Niagara with a cheque for $150,000 to help Habitat for Humanity Niagara build more homes.
“Habitat Niagara is challenged to do more as affordable housing remains a major concern across our region,” said Habitat Niagara’s CEO, Mark Carl. “We have an ambitious goal to build more homes and to serve as many families as possible. LJM’s donation will definitely make an impact on helping us achieve our goal as we move to a multi-residential building model.”
Habitat for Humanity Niagara is on track to build more than 30 homes over the next five years to provide local hard-working families a hand-up through its affordable homeownership model.
LJM looks for many different ways to be part of the community and give back.
“Ontario has a formidable challenge over the next five years to address its enormous housing shortage,” said LJM’s Business Development Director, Shaheryar Mian. “Housing affordability is something that has often been overlooked and is a challenge that multiple entities such as municipalities, financial institutions, non-profits, and developers need to tackle together. We hope with this initiative with Habitat Niagara we can encourage greater action by the development community to create more affordable housing for all Canadians.”
Habitat for Humanity Niagara is currently building two homes in Thorold with a third underway and will finish the year off by completing five homes.
